The Fish

SNOOK
This is a beautiful tropical game fish that is very plentiful in the area.  Our fishery for Snook averages anywhere between three and twenty-five pounds.  They are tenacious fighters that are excellent table fare.  The closed season for Snook is May, June, July, August, and December 15th - January 31st.  We catch Snook year-round (catch and release during the closed season), but the peek times are March thru July.

REDFISH
These are bountiful members of the drum family and are gaining popularity because of the many Redfish tournament circuits.  The Redfish in our area range from 3 to 20 pounds, and the peek season is summer.  They gather in huge schools that can entertain you for hours and make for sore arm muscles the next day.  There is no closed season on Redfish but there is a a lot limit (between 18 and 27 inches), and many are too big to keep.

SPOTTED SEA TROUT
Trout is something you can almost always count on when you want to bring home dinner.  These tasty treats are not going to test your tackle to much, but the are still very fun to catch.  They are generally between 15 and 25 inches, and have a closed season of November and December.

THE MIGHTY TARPON
Might want to eat your Wheaties before fishing for these bruisers.  The target time for Tarpon here is generally between April and August, but there are some juveniles around in the colder months up the Manatee River.  We usually fish for these silver giants in Tampa Bay around the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and on the Gulf Beaches.  They are not going to feed you but they are a truly world class sport fish that will give you a fight of a lifetime.

These are the big four, but many other species of fish commonly caught on our charters.

Which include:

COBIA
JACK CRAVELLE
SPANISH MACKEREL
GROUPER
FLOUNDER

and many others...  and the predator a juvenile Black Tip Shark.
